Every site sends from its own domain.
Verify a domain or subdomain per workspace and SendBeam’s managed delivery signs every message for it, aligns the return path, and handles bounces and complaints. SendBeam shows the CNAME records to publish and names the DNS provider to publish them at.
01 · What you get
How sending domains work in SendBeam.
- 01 Two records, then verifiedOpen Workspace settings → Email & Domains, enter yourbrand.com or a subdomain such as news.yourbrand.com, and SendBeam shows the CNAME records to publish: DKIM signing records and a return-path record. It re-checks them about every minute; the status moves from Add DNS records through Verifying to Verified, usually within minutes.
- 02 It names your DNS providerSendBeam looks up where the domain’s DNS is hosted and labels the records with it — Cloudflare, GoDaddy, IONOS, Namecheap, Route 53 and others — so you know which control panel to open. Add both CNAMEs there as DNS-only records; if your provider offers proxying, leave it off.
- 03 Aligned so DMARC passesMessages are DKIM-signed for your verified domain and use an aligned return path so SPF passes too. Publish a DMARC policy (p=quarantine or stricter) and your mail passes it while forgeries of your address are stopped. One-click unsubscribe headers are added to every campaign and automation email.
- 04 The from-address is checked on every sendA workspace may send only as its own shared platform address or as an address on a domain it has verified. SendBeam checks the from-address when you save it and again on every send, so a domain verified in a different workspace is never used by mistake.
- 05 Reputation guardrailsBounces, complaints and unsubscribes flow back automatically and change the contact’s status so the address is never mailed again. A workspace’s recent complaint and bounce rates are measured against clear limits: cross the warning level and admins are emailed, cross the pause level and sending stops until it is reviewed. Free-plan workspaces send apart from paying ones, so one plan’s behaviour never touches the other’s reputation.

02 · How it works
From zero to live.
The steps as they appear in the dashboard today. Each one is covered in more depth in the docs linked below.
- Step 01 Add the domainWorkspace settings → Email & Domains in the workspace for that site. Subdomains such as news.yourbrand.com keep newsletter reputation apart from your transactional or personal mail.
- Step 02 Publish the recordsAdd the CNAMEs at your DNS provider, DNS-only (not proxied). The card names the provider it detected for that domain.
- Step 03 Wait for VerifiedAutomatic re-checks about every minute; the table under the domain shows which records have been found.
- Step 04 Set the default from-addressPick hello@, news@ or whatever you like on that domain and click Set as default. Send yourself a test from Sender details.
- Step 05 Publish DMARCA _dmarc TXT record with p=quarantine or p=reject, and a rua address so you see the reports.
03 · Questions
Asked before choosing sending domains.
- Can two of my sites share one sending domain?
- A domain is verified inside one workspace and only that workspace can send from it. Give each site its own domain or subdomain; it keeps reputation, DMARC reports and unsubscribes attributable to the right site.
- Do I need to bring my own email provider or API keys?
- No. Delivery is managed by SendBeam. What you control is the domain and the from-name and address people see.
- My DNS is not on Cloudflare. Is it harder?
- Only slightly: copy the CNAME records into your provider’s DNS panel and wait for the automatic check. Changes can take up to an hour to be seen.
- What happens if my list turns out to be bad?
- Warnings go to admins first. If the complaint or bounce rate crosses the pause line, sending stops for that workspace until it is reviewed, which protects your other sites and everyone else on the platform.
